  MILLER GETS FOUR POINTS, REGINA BEATS HOSTS TO STAY UNBEATEN

  RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Que. – Arthur Miller had two goals and two assists, Owen Sillinger added three more points to his tournament-leading total, and the Regina Pat Canadians remained the lone unbeaten team at the 2015 TELUS Cup with a 6-3 win over the Albatros du Collège Notre-Dame on Thursday night.

  The Regina win finalizes the four semifinal teams at Canada’s National Midget Championship; the Pat Canadians will be joined by Châteauguay, Strathmore and Toronto, with final positions to be determined by Friday’s games.

  Tylor Ludwar, Conner Chaulk and Riley Woods ended the night with a goal and an assist apiece for Regina, while Jake Tesarowski chipped in with two assists.

  Chaulk kept a tradition alive by scoring just 45 seconds in; it marked the third time in as many Thursday games that a team had scored a goal before the clock reached the one-minute mark.

  But the Albatros answered right back when Emanuel Aucoin cut in from the wing and put a wrist shot top shelf at 4:07, and Hunter Moreau fed Vincent Ouellet-Beaudry with a beautiful back-door pass to give the hosts their first lead at 14:54.

  Regina struck quickly to start the second period, scoring again in the first minute; this time is was Miller getting the goal on the power play to tie the game only 30 ticks in.

  He added his second of the frame, this one shorthanded, to give Regina the lead again at 7:24, snapping a shot just over the pad of Collège Notre-Dame goaltender Marc-Antoine Dufour.

  The Pat Canadians put a trio of pucks past Dufour to pull away in the final 20 minutes, started by Ludwar’s third of the tournament at the 5:23 mark.

  After Moreau’s slap shot got the Albatros back within a goal, Sillinger kept the puck on a three-on-two and rifled a wrist shot just inside the far post for his tournament-leading fifth to restore the two-goal advantage.

  Woods finished the scoring into an empty net with 55 seconds left, with Miller and Sillinger capping their impressive nights with their second assist apiece.

  Regina will try to finish off a perfect preliminary round when it meets the winless Newbridge Academy Gladiators on Friday (1 p.m. ET), while the Albatros will play one final game in front of their home fans at Centre Premier Tech, taking on the Grenadiers de Chateauguay in an all-Quebec match-up (4:30 p.m. ET).

  RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Qc – Arthur Miller a accumulé deux buts et deux aides, Owen Sillinger a ajouté trois points à sa fiche pour demeurer au sommet des pointeurs du tournoi, et les Pat Canadians de Regina restent la seule équipe invaincue à la Coupe TELUS 2015 à la suite d’une victoire de 6-3 sur les Albatros du Collège Notre-Dame, jeudi soir.  

  La victoire de Regina a permis de finaliser le carré d’as au Championnat national midget du Canada; les Pat Canadians se joindront à Châteauguay, Strathmore et Toronto, mais les affrontements seront déterminés par le résultat des matchs de vendredi.

  Tylor Ludwar, Conner Chaulk et Riley Woods ont obtenu un but et une aide chacun pour Regina tandis que Jake Tesarowski s’est vu accorder deux mentions d’aide.  

  Chaulk a poursuivi la tradition en marquant à la 45e seconde de jeu; ce fut la troisième fois en trois matchs jeudi qu’une équipe comptait avant que le chronomètre atteigne une minute.

  Mais les Albatros n’ont pas tardé à répliquer quand Emanuel Aucoin s’est avancé à l’aile, a coupé vers le centre et a décoché un tir du poignet dans la partie supérieure à 4 min 7 s. Puis Hunter Moreau a effectué une superbe passe par la porte arrière à Vincent Ouellet-Beaudry qui a fait mouche, donnant aux hôtes leur première avance à 14 min 54 s.  

  Regina a fait vibrer les mailles du filet tôt en deuxième période, marquant à nouveau au cours de la première minute de jeu; cette fois, ce fut au tour de Miller de marquer en avantage numérique pour niveler la marque après seulement 30 secondes.

  Il a inscrit son deuxième du match, cette fois en désavantage numérique, pour redonner l’avance à Regina à 7 min 24 s en décochant un tir frappé court par-dessus la jambière du gardien de but du Collège Notre-Dame,
  Marc-Antoine Dufour.

  Les Pat Canadians ont fait mouche à trois reprises au dernier vingt, mettant le match hors de portée. C’est Ludwar qui a lancé l’offensive en comptant son troisième du tournoi à 5 min 23 s.

  Puis, après que le tir frappé de Moreau a réduit l’écart d’un but pour les Albatros, Sillinger a gardé la rondelle lors d’un trois contre deux et a décoché un puissant tir juste à l’intérieur du poteau éloigné, marquant ainsi son cinquième du tournoi – un sommet – et rétablissant l’avance de deux buts des siens.

  Woods a inscrit le dernier but de la rencontre dans un filet désert alors qu’il restait 55 secondes à jouer et Miller et Sillinger ont mis fin à leur impressionnante soirée de travail en obtenant chacun leur deuxième mention d’aide de la soirée.

  Regina tentera de remettre une fiche parfaite à la fin de la ronde préliminaire lorsqu’elle affrontera les Gladiators de la Newbridge Academy, qui n’ont encore aucune victoire, vendredi (13 h HE) tandis que les Albatros disputeront un dernier match devant leurs partisans au Centre Premier Tech (16 h 30 HE) contre l’autre formation québécoise, les Grenadiers de Châteauguay.
