  RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Que. – James Guest’s second goal of the game with 3:32 left was the winner, leading the Toronto Young Nationals past the Albatros du Collège Notre-Dame 3-2 in a back-and-forth game Wednesday night at the 2015 TELUS Cup.

  Ryan Bonsteel took care of the Young Nationals’ other goal, while the Albatros turned to Francis Stachtchenko and Raphaël Santerre for both of theirs.

  Jake Joffe and Max Routledge picked up assists on both of Guest’s goals.

  The Young Nationals were first to get on the board with 2:03 left in opening period, thanks to Guest, but Santerre’s shot made its way up and over Toronto goaltender Dalton Ewing with 5.9 seconds left to send the game to the intermission tied 1-1.

  Toronto came out quickly to start the second period and retook the lead just 18 seconds in when Bonsteel picked up the rebound of an Alex Ierullo shot and tucked it behind Tristan Bérubé to make it 2-1.

  That would be the lone goal of the middle frame, despite a fast pace and numerous chances by both sides.

  Stachtchenko brought the Albatros even again eight minutes into the third period, redirecting an absolute bullet from Yan Aucoin while parked in front of Ewing.

  With overtime looming, Guest took a perfect pass from Joffe and beat Bérubé to put the Young Nationals up for good, and leave them in prime position to lock up a second consecutive semifinal berth.

  Neither team had success on the power play; Toronto failed to score on its four opportunities with the man advantage, with Collège Notre-Dame doing the same on its six tries.

  The Young Nationals are back on the ice Thursday to face the Grenadiers de Chateauguay in a winner-goes-to-the-semifinals match-up (4 p.m. ET), while the Albatros face a tough test against the unbeaten Regina Pat Canadians (7:30 p.m. ET).

  RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Qc – James Guest a compté le premier et dernier but de la partie, alors que Jake Joffe et Max Routledge ont tous les deux participé à ses buts et Toronto a marqué avec 3 min 32 s à faire en troisième période, ce qui lui a permis de battre les Albatros du Collège Notre-Dame 3-2 mercredi soir à la Coupe TELUS.

  Ryan Bonsteel a inscrit l’autre but des Young Nationals, alors que Francis Stachtchenko et Raphaël Santerre ont fait vibrer les cordages pour les Albatros.

  Devant le filet, Dalton Ewing de Toronto a signé la victoire grâce à une performance de 28 arrêts, alors que Tristan Bérubé du Collège Notre-Dame a bloqué 21 tirs sur 24 dans la défaite.

  Les Young Nationals ont été les premiers à s’inscrire au tableau. Guest a obtenu son premier but avec 2 min 03 s à faire au premier tiers. Santerre a refusé de voir les Albatros retraiter au vestiaire avec un retard d’un but, touchant la cible avec 5,9 secondes à écouler en première période après avoir vu son tir être dévié par-dessus Ewing.

  Après avoir rapidement perdu leur avance, les Young Nationals n’ont pas tardé à répliquer en deuxième période. Bonsteel s’est emparé d’un rebond pour battre Bérubé, portant le compte à 2-1 pour Toronto.

  Aucun but n’a été inscrit dans le reste de la deuxième période, marquée par du jeu rythmé et des transitions rapides.

  Les deux équipes se sont échangé des buts au troisième vingt. Yan Aucoin des Albatros a décoché un boulet de la pointe que Stachtchenko a redirigé en gênant Ewing.

  Par la suite, avec cinq minutes à écouler au troisième tiers, Guest a mis le match hors de portée en inscrivant son deuxième de la soirée après avoir accepté une passe parfaite de Joffe.

  Les deux formations n’ont pas réussi à inscrire un seul but en avantage numérique. Toronto n’a rien généré en quatre occasions, alors que le Collège Notre-Dame a fait fausse route en pareille circonstance malgré six chances.

  Toronto a rendez-vous avec Châteauguay à 16 h HE jeudi, alors que les deux équipes tenteront d’améliorer leur fiche à 3-1. Les Albatros joueront encore une fois à 19 h HE, cette fois contre les Pat Canadians de Regina, toujours invaincus.

  Les deux matchs auront lieu au Centre Premier Tech de Rivière-du-Loup.
